We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join our global development team, distributed across four MSIM locations. The ideal candidate will contribute to designing and building a modern technology stack that powers digital platforms, enabling efficiencies for our Investment Teams. This is a front-office role requiring strong technical expertise and close collaboration with business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop modern, modular, and scalable web applications following best coding and testing practices.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute toward achieving team goals.
- Collaborate with a global team of technologists across multiple locations.
- Drive innovation by contributing ideas and implementing best-in-class solutions.
- Partner with end users (Fixed Income team) to gather requirements and design effective solutions.
Core Competencies
- 7+ years of experience in developing enterprise-level Python applications.
- Strong expertise in building scalable backend systems using Python.
- Hands-on experience with Python frameworks and ORM tools.
- Solid understanding of MVC architecture for web applications.
- Experience in writing unit, component, and integration tests.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with build and deployment tooling.
- Ability to interact with stakeholders for requirement gathering and lead Agile practices.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and financial instruments.
- Experience with Fixed Income portfolio tools and data is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and work with proprietary cloud-based technologies.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to independently drive solutions.
- Solid understanding of system design principles along with strong Python programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI and RAG-based applications.
- Experience in building enterprise-level AI agents and intelligent systems.
- Ability to design scalable and efficient end-to-end solutions.
- Frontend exposure is a plus (preferably Angular), but strong Python expertise is mandatory, along with experience in developing Gen AI / RAG applications.
