Windchill Technical Architect

Birlasoft is looking for Windchill Technical Architect who will be responsible for defining, governing, and delivering the technical architecture for PTC Windchill PLM solutions across implementation, upgrade, migration, integration, and enhancement programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the endtoend technical architecture for Windchill PLM programs
• Define architecture covering: Windchill system landscape (App, DB, File Vaults, Clusters), Data model, objects, lifecycles, workflows, and access controls, Customization vs OOTB strategy
• Ensure solutions are PTCcompliant and upgradefriendly

• Provide technical direction to Developers, Functional Consultants, and Migration teams
• Review and approve: Technical design documents, Customization approaches and integrations, Migration and upgrade strategies
• Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure quality and performance
• Architect and govern: Windchill customizations (Actions, Validators, Workflows, UI), Integrations using REST/OData, Info*Engine, ESI, middleware

• Define performance, scalability, and security standards
• Troubleshoot complex production and integration issues

• Define upgrade and migration architecture (Windchill Windchill / nonWindchill Windchill)
• Ensure customizations are compatible with newer Windchill versions and Windchill+
• Support architecture decisions for rehost and cloud (AWS/Azure) deployments

• Lead technical discussions and architecture workshops with customer IT and business stakeholders
• Explain architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to nontechnical audiences
• Support UAT signoff, golive readiness, and hypercare stabilization

Required Skills & Experience

• Deep handson expertise with PTC Windchill PLM
• Strong experience across multiple Windchill modules: PDMLink (mandatory), MPMLink / Change Management / PartsLink / ProjectLink (as applicable)
• Strong understanding of: BOM, Part, Document, and Change management, CAD integrations and publishing
• Strong experience with: Windchill Java APIs and customization framework, REST/OData services, Info*Engine, Oracle / SQL Server databases

• Ability to design and review highscale Windchill architectures
• Experience defining security, performance, and availability standards

• Typically 12-18+ years of PLM experience with senior Windchill architectural ownership
• Experience with enterprisescale programs and global deployments

• Strong technical leadership and mentoring capability
• Excellent communication with architects, developers, and clients
• Structured problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
• Ownership mindset for quality and delivery
