Principal Consultant - Transitions
The Transition Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end transition programs including process migration, stakeholder alignment, and people onboarding (recruitment). This role ensures seamless transition through strong onshore coordination, milestone adherence, recruitment planning, and alignment of all transition artifacts, ensuring readiness for steady-state operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transition Planning & Governance
- Define transition strategy, scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Build comprehensive transition roadmaps with clear milestones
- Establish governance cadence, dashboards, and reporting structures
- Ensure tollgate/stage-gate approvals before phase progression
2. Onshore Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Act as single point of contact for client/onshore stakeholders
- Conduct workshops, due diligence, and transition kick-offs
- Align expectations and secure approvals across transition phases
- Manage communication between onshore SMEs and offshore teams
3. Transition Execution & Milestone Management
- Drive transition activities ensuring 100% milestone adherence
- Track dependencies, risks, and escalations proactively
- Monitor KPIs and ensure readiness at each phase
- Lead phases: Discovery KT Reverse KT Go-Live Hypercare
4. Recruitment & Resource Onboarding
Workforce Planning
- Define resource demand plan aligned with transition timelines
- Identify skill requirements (domain, technical, language, certifications)
- Partner with HR/Talent Acquisition to initiate hiring plans
Recruitment Execution
- Drive end-to-end recruitment for transition roles:
- Resume screening & shortlist validation
- Panel interviews & technical assessments
- Final selection and offer alignment
- Ensure hiring is completed within transition timelines
Onboarding & Resource Readiness
- Plan and track resource onboarding schedules
- Ensure new hires complete:
- System access setup
- Compliance training
- Process-level training
- Align hiring with Knowledge Transfer (KT) schedules
Resource Deployment & Ramp-Up
- Monitor ramp-up productivity vs. plan
- Ensure adequate staffing before go-live
- Manage backup and shadow resources
Coordination with Stakeholders
- Work closely with:
- HR / Talent Acquisition
- Delivery Managers
- Training Teams
- Provide hiring dashboards and regular updates to leadership
5. Knowledge Transfer & Documentation
- Design and govern structured KT plans
- Ensure completeness of all transition artifacts:
- SOPs, Process Maps, Work Instructions
- KT logs & training materials
- RACI matrices
- Transition trackers & governance decks
- Validate documentation through reverse KT and sign-offs
6. Risk & Issue Management
- Maintain risk register and mitigation plans
- Identify risks in hiring delays, KT gaps, or resource readiness
- Escalate issues and drive resolution within defined timelines
7. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all processes and documentation meet organizational standards
- Conduct audits of transition artifacts and readiness
- Maintain compliance with client and regulatory requirements
8. Post-Transition Support (Hypercare)
- Govern stabilization phase post go-live
- Track SLA adherence and operational readiness
- Ensure smooth handover to BAU/support teams
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong expertise in transition & migration frameworks
- Workforce planning and recruitment coordination experience
- Tools: MS Project, JIRA, ServiceNow, SharePoint
- Process documentation & mapping tools (Visio, BPM tools)

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- MBA or equivalent (preferred)
Experience Requirements
- 12 years of total experience
- 5 years in transition management
- Demonstrated experience managing:
- Global transitions
- Hiring/ramp-ups during transitions
- Experience in shared services / outsourcing environment
