Job Title: Ward Boy / Patient Care Assistant

Job Summary
The Ward Boy is responsible for providing basic patient care and support services within the hospital ward. This role involves assisting patients with mobility, hygiene, and comfort, supporting nurses and doctors in daily ward activities, and ensuring cleanliness, safety, and smooth operations in the ward.
Key Responsibilities

Assist patients with movement, including transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, and diagnostic areas

Support patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting, as required

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the ward, beds, and patient areas
-
Transport medical equipment, samples, documents, and medicines within the hospital

Assist nursing staff during patient care procedures as instructed

Respond promptly to patient call bells and report patient needs to nursing staff

Help in admission, discharge, and shifting of patients between wards or departments

Ensure proper handling and disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital protocols

Follow infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times

Provide courteous and compassionate support to patients and their families
Required Qualifications

Minimum education: 8th or 10th pass (as per hospital policy)

Certification or training in Patient Care / Hospital Attendant course preferred

Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare facility is an advantage
