Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITOM, and will drive data accuracy, platform scalability, and alignment with business services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement CMDB architecture aligned with Common Service Data Model (CSDM) standards
• Define and enforce CMDB governance, data models, and data lifecycle processes
• Lead CMDB health initiatives including data completeness, correctness, and compliance
• Architect and implement integrations with external systems (cloud, on-prem, third-party tools)
• Work closely with ITOM modules including Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management
• Define CI class structure, relationships, and identification/reconciliation rules (IRE)
• Lead data ingestion strategies (ServiceNow Discovery, IntegrationHub, APIs, ETL tools)
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers and administrators
• Conduct impact analysis and support change, incident, and problem management processes
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and stakeholders for service modeling and dependency mapping
• Establish monitoring and reporting dashboards for CMDB health and KPIs

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in ServiceNow CMDB/ITOM architecture
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • CMDB data model and CI class design
  • CSDM framework implementation (v3/v4 preferred)
  • ServiceNow Discovery & Service Mapping
  • Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
  • IntegrationHub, MID Server setup, and API integrations
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Asset)
• Experience in CMDB data governance, audits, and compliance
• Proficiency in JavaScript, REST/SOAP APIs

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certifications:
  • Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery / Service Mapping
  • Certified Application Developer (CAD) (optional)
• Experience with large-scale CMDB implementations (enterprise level)
• Exposure to tools like SCCM, Tanium, SolarWinds, or other discovery tools
• Knowledge of DevOps and cloud-native architectures
