JOB SUMMARY
The Test Development & Operations Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining test solutions to ensure product quality, reliability, and performance. This role involves test automation development, test infrastructure management, and operational support across the testing lifecycle. The engineer works closely with development, validation, and operations teams to enable efficient, scalable, and high-quality testing processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Test Development
Design and develop automated test frameworks, scripts, and tools for functional, integration, and system-level testing.
Create and maintain reusable test libraries and utilities to improve test coverage and efficiency.
Test Operations & Infrastructure
Manage and support test environments, test benches, and test infrastructure.
Ensure test systems are stable, scalable, and available to support development and release cycles.
Execution & Validation
Execute automated and manual test suites and analyze test results.
Identify, log, and track defects through resolution in collaboration with development teams.
CI/CD & Automation Integration
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
Monitor pipeline health and improve test execution reliability and performance.
Debugging & Root Cause Analysis
Perform root cause analysis for test failures and system issues.
Collaborate with developers to debug and resolve test and product defects.
Reporting & Metrics
Generate test reports, dashboards, and quality metrics for stakeholders.
Communicate test status, risks, and release readiness.
Process Improvement & Best Practices
Improve test development, execution, and operations processes.
Promote best practices in test automation, test coverage, and quality engineering.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Strong experience in test development and automation.
Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (Python, Java, C/C++ preferred).
Experience with test frameworks and tools.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices.
Hands-on experience managing test environments and infrastructure.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
Ability to work collaboratively across development, QA, and operations teams.
