Senior Accountant - India Statutory

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable, hands-on Senior Accountant to help support both the operational and statutory accounting functions of our India subsidiary and month-end close processes. This role will play a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and scalable processes across geographies.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. They will act as a key finance partner to the India team while collaborating closely with global finance stakeholders to ensure alignment with company-wide standards.

Key Responsibilities

India Statutory & Operational Accounting

  • Support day-to-day accounting and finance operations for the India entity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Work with a third party to manage statutory compliance, including entity registrations, tax filings, and coordination of statutory audits
  • Assist with payroll processing reviews and ensure compliance with local labor and tax regulations
  • Maintain strong internal controls across cash management and expense cycles
  • Partner with HR and internal teams to support compliant employee onboarding and compensation processes
  • Serve as a point of contact for India-based employees
  • Perform core accounting activities
  • Support the monthly close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Coordinate with external accounting partners to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Support annual audit processes, including audit preparation and resolution of inquiries
  • Partner with tax advisors on filings, compliance, and transfer pricing matters

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Support automation initiatives across accounting workflows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data integrity and alignment across systems
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic finance initiatives

Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • 4-7 years of accounting or finance experience, with exposure to India statutory requirements
  • Background in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or corporate accounting
  • Experience working with auditors, tax advisors, and external vendors
  • Strong ERP experience (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Workday) and advanced Excel skills
