Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled EUC Desktop Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is responsible for providing end-to-end support for desktop computing environments, ensuring seamless and efficient operations for end users. The ideal candidate will have expertise in troubleshooting, deploying, and maintaining desktop systems, software applications, and hardware, with a focus on delivering an excellent user experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Desktop and Laptop Management:

    • Deploy, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop systems, ensuring all devices meet company standards and are configured for optimal performance.

    • Install, update, and support software applications, including operating systems (Windows, macOS), productivity suites (Microsoft Office, etc.), and other business-critical software.

    • Provide timely and effective support for hardware issues, software malfunctions, and system performance concerns.

  • End-User Support:

    • Offer tier-1 and tier-2 support for end users, diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to desktop computing.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop-related problems via remote tools, phone, email, or in-person.

    • Ensure efficient handling of user requests and prioritize issues based on severity and business impact.

  • System and Software Deployment:

    • Deploy new desktop systems and software to end users, ensuring proper configuration and integration into the corporate environment.

    • Perform regular upgrades and patch management to keep systems secure, stable, and up to date.

    • Manage the lifecycle of desktop devices, including configuration, imaging, asset management, and decommissioning.

  • Security and Compliance:

    • Ensure that desktop systems are in compliance with corporate security policies and guidelines, including applying encryption, antivirus software, and other security tools.

    • Assist with endpoint security tasks like malware detection, patching, and data protection strategies.

    • Perform system audits and security assessments to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

  • Collaboration & Documentation:

    • Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., network, infrastructure, security) to ensure smooth integration and compatibility between systems.

    • Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and configurations in knowledge base articles and internal documentation.

    • Assist in creating training materials and user guides for common desktop tasks and issues.

  • Asset Management:

    • Track and manage desktop hardware and software assets, ensuring proper inventory records and licenses.

    • Assist in procuring new hardware or software as needed, ensuring compliance with company policies and budget constraints.

  • User Experience:

    • Continuously monitor and improve the desktop computing environment to enhance the user experience.

    • Stay updated on the latest desktop technologies, trends, and best practices to recommend improvements.
