Key Responsibilities:
Application Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications on the AS/400 (IBM iSeries) platform using RPG, CL, and other related languages. System Integration: Develop and integrate AS/400 applications with external systems, databases, and web services to support business processes. Database Management: Work with DB2 for i (AS/400) databases, including designing, creating, and maintaining physical and logical files, and optimizing queries. Support & Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing AS/400 applications, including troubleshooting issues, debugging, and resolving system errors. Performance Tuning: Optimize performance for AS/400 applications by analyzing system resources, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements. Documentation: Document all software development processes, system modifications, and troubleshooting steps in compliance with company standards. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and other developers, to understand and deliver technical solutions. Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform unit testing, system testing, and quality assurance on new developments and enhancements to ensure they meet business requirements. Version Control: Utilize version control and source code management tools to maintain codebase integrity and manage changes across development and production environments. Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security practices and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
