| Roles and Responsibilities |
IMS Network Deployment & Configuration: Design, implement, and configure IMS network elements (e.g., CSCF, HSS, BGCF, IBCF, etc.) for voice and multimedia services.
Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network issues within the IMS infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption.
IMS Protocol Management: Work with key IMS protocols such as SIP, Diameter, GTP, and RTP. Ensure the correct configuration and management of these protocols across the network.
Network Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor the health and performance of the IMS network. Use network performance tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump) to troubleshoot and optimize IMS elements.
Service Provisioning: Work with other engineering teams to support the provisioning of new services like VoLTE, VoWiFi, and video calling within the IMS network.
Integration with Legacy Systems: Ensure smooth integration of IMS components with existing legacy systems like PSTN and SS7 networks.
Capacity Planning & Scalability: Assist in capacity planning for IMS infrastructure to ensure that the network can scale to meet growing demand. Provide recommendations for upgrades and optimization.
Security: Implement and enforce security policies to protect IMS infrastructure and network data. Regularly monitor for potential vulnerabilities and risks.
