Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PL/SQL Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, troubleshooting, and support, with expertise in PL/SQL programming and Oracle Database management. As a Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our database systems while providing timely and efficient technical support.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. PL/SQL Support & Maintenance:

    • Provide day-to-day technical support for PL/SQL scripts, queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PL/SQL code performance, errors, and database connectivity.

    • Optimize and tune PL/SQL code for better performance.

  2. Database Management:

    • Monitor and maintain Oracle databases for performance, availability, and security.

    • Perform regular backups, restore, and data recovery procedures.

    • Manage database security roles and permissions.

  3. Incident Management:

    • Act as the first point of contact for database-related incidents and service requests.

    • Analyze, document, and resolve incidents and problems in a timely manner.

    • Collaborate with development teams to identify the root cause of production issues.

  4. Environment Support:

    • Maintain and support the production and test environments for Oracle databases.

    • Ensure high availability and reliability of database services.

  5. Database Deployments & Updates:

    • Assist in the deployment of new database versions, patches, and updates.

    • Conduct testing to ensure that database updates do not impact performance or functionality.

  6. Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, scripts, and support procedures.

    • Create and update knowledgebase articles to assist with ongoing support issues.

    • Generate regular reports on database performance and incidents.
