- Application Development:
Designing, developing, and maintaining applications using CL, RPG (including RPGLE and RPG/400), and DB2/400 on the AS400 platform. - CL Programming :
Writing and maintaining CL programs for various tasks, including job control, system management, and application logic. - Database Interaction:
Working with DB2/400 databases, including creating and managing physical and logical files, writing SQL queries, and utilizing AS400 query tools. - Code Reviews :
Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and best practices. - Debugging and Testing:
Identifying and resolving issues in applications through debugging and testing procedures. - Production Support :
Providing support for existing AS400 applications, including troubleshooting and resolving production issues. - Collaboration:
Working with business analysts, QA teams, and end-users to ensure effective implementation of applications. - System Maintenance:
Participating in system upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning activities.
Skills:
- CL Programming:
Strong knowledge and experience in CL programming, including command definition, control structures, and system commands. - RPG Programming:
Proficiency in RPG programming, including RPGLE, RPG/400, and potentially other variations.
