Roles and Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c).

  • Perform regular database maintenance including backups, restores, patching, and monitoring.

  • Optimize database performance using tools like AWR, ADDM, and SQL Tuning Advisor.

  • Manage database security including user accounts, roles, and auditing.

  • Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies (RMAN, Data Guard).

  • Perform capacity planning, database growth projections, and health checks.

  • Automate routine DBA tasks using PL/SQL and shell scripting.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for database design and application optimization.

  • Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis.
