Sr Analyst - Software Asset Management

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Product Manager and other stakeholders to understand the software needs and ensure they are adequately met.

  2. Develop and implement software license optimization strategies to reduce cost and improve efficiency.

  3. Carry out software asset management processes, including detailed analytics of contracts, usage and deployment data, forecast and budgets.

4. Strong knowledge on publisher licensing - VMware, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, RedHat etc. and Business software licensing management

5. Good knowledge on FNMS components and functions.

  1. Daily operational SAM activities including tracking of s/w license procured Vs deployment summary reports, license compliance monitoring.
  2. Internal stakeholder co-ordination relating to missing details.
  3. Manage and control IT Risk and contribute to cost reduction initiatives.
  4. Be responsible to produce timely agreed KPI's / Management Dashboard and strive well to achieve the agreed target level.
  5. Refine, maintain and adhere to policies, processes and best practices to enable appropriate management of IT Assets with respect to risk, cost and compliance.
  6. Be on lookout for improvement opportunity to design/develop automation, simplification in order to optimize.
  7. Manage request queue/tickets and meet the agreed upon SLA's.
  8. Co-ordinating with relevant stakeholders related to license deployed/consumption activities.

14. Comfortable working with other tech teams as needed to decom servers, update scripts so continue to get the right info back from the servers.

15. Work with Procurement teams, Publisher reps and license managers.

16. Must have knowledge on Maintenance/Subscription Renewal, Purchase Request and procurement process.

17. Sound knowledge on license entitlement & purchase details.

  1. Review and validation of S/W request from availability and IT infrastructure perspective

  2. Provide advice and coordinate with BLs' SPOCs on their software requirement

  3. Investigation and clarification with the software publishers on contracts and license policy

Bachelor's degree (BE / B.Tech, B.Sc) or 3 year technical Diploma with 3 to 5 years of Software Asset Management experience. Knowledge of Flexera tool is added advantage.
Knowledge on vendor licensing (, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, etc.), including business software licenses.
KPI management and tracking
License compliance Management
Good hands on experience in advanced excel
Able to confidently present SAM reports
Ability to work independently
Good stakeholder management skill
