Lead Oracle APEX Developer (Retail | Enhancements & Integrations)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Oracle APEX Developer to lead enhancements, modernization, and production support for retail enterprise applications built on Oracle APEX + Oracle Database. You will deliver incremental business improvements, optimize performance, ensure security/compliance, and lead integrations with core retail systems such as Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) and adjacent platforms (pricing, inventory, POS, OMS).

Retail Systems Exposure (Key Platforms)
This role works closely with retail ecosystems such as:
• Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) – item master, supplier, inventory, procurement, merchandising hierarchy
• Oracle Retail Price Management (RPM) – pricing, promotions, markdowns
• Oracle Retail Sales Audit (ReSA) – sales reconciliation, audit exceptions
• Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management (SIM) – store inventory, stock adjustments, replenishment tasks
• Oracle Retail Xstore POS (or other POS) – transactions, tenders, returns, store operations
• Oracle Retail Order Management / OMS (Oracle Retail OROMS or other OMS) – order lifecycle, fulfillment exceptions
• Optional / environment dependent: WMS, ERP, CRM/Loyalty, eCommerce platforms, and retail analytics/reporting layers

Key Responsibilities
• Enhancements leadership: Own end to end delivery of enhancement releases—requirements, design, build, test coordination, and deployment.
• Hands on APEX development: Build/extend APEX apps (Interactive Grids/Reports, dashboards, workflows, approvals) using Universal Theme and reusable components.
• Retail process enablement: Implement enhancements across merchandising, pricing/promotions, inventory visibility, sales audit exceptions, and store operations workflows.
• Data & PL/SQL ownership: Develop and optimize SQL/PL/SQL (packages, procedures, triggers, views) aligned to retail data models (items/SKUs, stores, inventory, price events, sales).
• Integrations with retail systems:
o Consume/publish interfaces to RMS/RPM/ReSA/SIM/POS/OMS using ORDS/REST, batch jobs, file feeds, and messaging patterns (as applicable).
o Ensure robust error handling, reconciliation, and retry mechanisms for retail data flows.
• Production support & RCA: Lead L2/L3 support, resolve defects, perform root cause analysis, and reduce repeat incidents through preventive fixes.
• Security & governance: Implement authentication/authorization, least privilege access, session state protection, audit logging, and secure API patterns.
• Performance tuning: Improve page load times and heavy queries (inventory views, pricing/promo analytics, sales dashboards) using indexing, execution plans, and APEX best practices.
• Team leadership: Mentor developers, enforce coding standards, conduct code reviews, and drive consistent release & quality practices.
• Stakeholder management: Partner with merchandising, store ops, supply chain, finance/sales audit teams; provide estimation and delivery updates.

Required Skills & Experience
• 6–10+ years overall experience, with strong delivery experience in Oracle APEX.
• Deep expertise in Oracle APEX: IG/IR, forms, Dynamic Actions, validations/processes, Universal Theme, security schemes.
• Strong SQL & PL/SQL with proven performance tuning (indexes, execution plans, query refactoring).
• Solid Oracle Database concepts: data modeling, constraints, transactions, concurrency/locking.
• Integration experience using ORDS and REST APIs (JSON, auth patterns, error handling).
• Experience with Git and structured release practices (PR reviews, branching strategy).
• Proven ability to balance enhancements + support under SLA-driven environments.

Preferred / Nice to Have (Retail Focused)
• Working knowledge or prior integration exposure to Oracle Retail RMS / RPM / ReSA / SIM / Xstore POS / OMS.
• Familiarity with retail master/transactional data concepts: item hierarchy, UOM, suppliers, store/DC, stock ledger, price events, promo calendars, sales/returns.
• APEX UI customization using JavaScript/HTML/CSS, reusable components, plugin exposure.
• CI/CD exposure (Azure DevOps/Jenkins/GitHub Actions), automated deployments, environment promotion.
• Experience with reconciliation controls and audit/compliance requirements (especially around sales, pricing, and inventory changes).
