Senior QA Automation Engineer

About The Job:

• Design, build, and maintain robust automated test suites for web and mobile applications using Selenium and BDD frameworks (Cucumber).
• Develop and scale test automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API services, supporting Tesco’s high-traffic applications.
• Perform API testing and automation using Postman or RestAssured (we’ll train you on either if needed).
• Enhance and extend our API/Web Service automation frameworks to keep up with evolving product needs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Write and manage clear test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure traceability and coverage.
• Execute manual and automated test cases; report, track, and manage defects using Jira.
• Estimate, prioritize, and plan testing activities within agile delivery teams.
• Perform functional and integration testing of complex systems, ensuring that all services, components, and integrations work seamlessly.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines with Git, Gradle/Maven, and Jenkins.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, product demos, and release reviews, acting as the quality champion in your squad.
• Continuously improve Tesco’s test practices, frameworks, and tooling, staying ahead of industry trends.
• Support the team with end-to-end manual testing when automation isn’t feasible.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior testers when needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience in Selenium, BDD frameworks (Cucumber), and API testing tools
• Experience in automation frameworks and CI/CD integration
• Experience in Agile methodologies and test lifecycle management
• Strong debugging, reporting, and collaboration skills
