About The Job:
- The Firewall Lead L3 acts as the highest technical escalation point for firewall operations and security management in a Time & Material (T&M) engagement model.
- This role is customer-facing, requiring strong technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient firewall operations.
Firewall Operations & Management
- Lead configuration, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise firewalls (LAN/WAN, perimeter, DMZ).
- Manage firewall policies, IPS/IDS configurations, and AV rules to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Oversee traffic flow analysis and troubleshoot complex connectivity issues across multiple environments.
- Act as the primary escalation point for L2 teams during critical incidents (P1/P2 cases).
- Review and approve firewall-related changes via CAB meetings and ensure adherence to ITIL processes.
- Coordinate with customer technical boards for impact analysis and risk mitigation during major changes.
- Ensure firewall configurations align with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits of firewall rules and implement defense-in-depth strategies (e.g., dual-firewall DMZ architecture).
- Maintain documentation for firewall standards, SOPs, and compliance reports.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for customer stakeholders during escalations and service reviews.
- Provide proactive updates during incidents and planned changes, ensuring transparency and trust.

- Handle complex L3-level troubleshooting for firewall, VPN, and network security issues.
- Collaborate with vendors for bug fixes, firmware upgrades, and advanced diagnostics.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.
- Identify opportunities for automation in firewall rule management and compliance checks.
- Implement scripts and tools for log analysis, policy optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Drive initiatives for reducing manual interventions and improving SLA adherence.
- Exp: 10 to 15years
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet), DMZ architecture, VPN, IPS/IDS.
- Certifications: CCNP Security, Palo Alto PCNSE, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, ITIL Foundation.
- Experience: 8+ years in network security with at least 3 years in L3 firewall operations.
- Soft Skills: Strong customer communication, stakeholder management, and leadership in high-pressure scenarios.
