Medical Administration Clinical Specialties & Support Services
Department: Medical Administration
Reporting To: Medical Director / COO / Hospital Administrator
Location: Hospital / Healthcare Facility
Role Purpose
The role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating clinical specialties and support services to ensure smooth hospital operations, optimal resource utilization, highquality patient care, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the daytoday functioning of clinical specialties
- Ensure efficient utilization of clinical resources and infrastructure
- Liaise with department heads for staffing, rosters, and service delivery
- Oversee support services including Diagnostics, Pharmacy, CSSD, Biomedical, Housekeeping, Dietary, and Patient Transport
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, and statutory regulations (PCPNDT, Biomedical Waste, Fire & Safety, etc.)
- Monitor clinical KPIs, patient flow, TAT, and service quality indicators
- Handle patient grievances, escalations, and medicolegal coordination
- Support implementation of hospital policies, SOPs, and clinical protocols
- Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections, and accreditation activities
- Participate in infection control, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
- Work closely with Finance and HR on budgeting, manpower planning, and cost control
- Prepare administrative and performance reports for management review
Qualifications & Experience
- MBBS / BAMS / BHMS with a Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA/MBAHA)
- 510 years of experience in medical administration in a multispecialty hospital
- Mandatory exposure to accreditation standards and regulatory compliance
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Sound understanding of clinical operations and hospital workflows
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Ability to handle patient escalations and conflict resolution
- Proficiency in Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and reporting tools
Compliance & Ethics
