Job Title: Healthcare Operations Analyst

Location: Marble Falls, TX (Onsite/Hybrid as applicable)
Assignment Type: Temp / Contract (13 Weeks)
Shift: Day Shift (Aligned with clinical operations)


JOB SUMMARY

The Healthcare Operations Analyst supports Med/Surg nursing units by analyzing clinical, operational, and staffing data to improve patient outcomes, workflow efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. The Analyst collaborates closely with Registered Nurses, nurse managers, physicians, and administrative teams to ensure data-driven decision-making that enhances quality of care, patient safety, and operational performance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data & Clinical Operations Analysis

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical and operational data related to Med/Surg patient care, staffing ratios (e.g., 1:5), shift utilization, and length of stay.

  • Monitor key nursing quality indicators such as patient outcomes, readmissions, incident reports, and patient safety metrics.

  • Analyze workload trends across 3x12 schedules and EOW staffing to support optimal nurse deployment.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Develop dashboards and reports using EMR data (EPIC preferred) to support nursing leadership and hospital administration.

  • Provide regular reports on productivity, compliance, quality metrics, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with HIPAA and healthcare data privacy standards.

Process Improvement & Quality Initiatives

  • Support quality improvement and performance initiatives aligned with evidence-based nursing practices.

  • Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement within Med/Surg units.

  • Assist in evaluating outcomes of new clinical workflows, policies, or staffing models.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Work collaboratively with RNs, nurse managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to understand workflow challenges.

  • Translate clinical and operational data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making.

  • Support onboarding and transition of travel/temporary nursing staff through data and workflow analysis.

Systems & Tools Management

  • Utilize hospital systems including EPIC, scheduling tools, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.

  • Assist with data extraction and validation from electronic medical records and hospital databases.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare or hospital analytics experience (Med/Surg or inpatient experience preferred).

  • Strong experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and data visualization.

  • Knowledge of hospital operations, nursing workflows, and patient care standards.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with nursing leadership or clinical operations teams.

  • Familiarity with nursing quality indicators and regulatory standards.

  • Understanding of staffing models, scheduling, and productivity analysis in inpatient settings.
