JOB SUMMARY

The CT Technologist is a licensed imaging professional responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. Using independent judgment, the CT Technologist ensures accurate imaging to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. The role requires effective patient care, radiation safety compliance, and collaboration with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure optimal imaging outcomes.

This position supports inpatient and outpatient hospital departments with 24×7 staffing, including departments with on-call coverage. Examples include Emergency Department, Inpatient Imaging, Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging, and Procedural Areas.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Clinical Judgment

Performs CT imaging procedures accurately and efficiently according to physician orders and established protocols. Assesses patient condition and history to determine appropriate scanning techniques while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Clinical Inquiry

Maintains imaging quality standards by evaluating image accuracy and consistency. Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Supports evidence-based imaging practices.

Caring Practices

Provides compassionate, patient-centered care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort throughout the imaging process. Maintains a safe and supportive imaging environment.

Response to Diversity

Recognizes and respects patient diversity, including cultural, spiritual, and physical differences, and adapts imaging procedures to meet individual patient needs.

Advocacy and Moral Agency

Ensures patient confidentiality, dignity, and rights. Verifies patient identity and exam accuracy to prevent errors. Acts as a patient advocate during imaging procedures.
