JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Medical Assistant II (CMA II) is a credentialed clinical professional who supports physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality patient care. The CMA II performs both clinical and administrative duties, including patient intake, documentation, assisting with procedures, and care coordination. This role ensures efficient clinic workflow while maintaining patient safety, confidentiality, and comfort.
This position supports outpatient and ambulatory care settings, including specialty clinics and procedural areas, and requires collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Clinical Judgment
Performs patient intake activities including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and medical history documentation. Prepares patients and exam rooms for procedures and assists providers during examinations and treatments according to clinical protocols.
Clinical Inquiry
Monitors patient flow and identifies opportunities for improving clinic efficiency and quality of care. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and follows evidence-based clinical practices.
Caring Practices
Provides compassionate, patient-centered care by addressing patient concerns, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort and safety throughout the visit.

Respects and incorporates patient and family differences including cultural background, beliefs, age, and values into care delivery and communication.

Maintains patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity. Ensures accurate documentation and communicates patient concerns to providers promptly.
