Brief Job Description:

The MCAD Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for various Mechanical CAD (MCAD) applications, including Creo Parametric, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Solid Edge. The role focuses on ensuring the smooth operation, availability, and performance of CAD systems across global engineering teams. The candidate will handle installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support while collaborating with software vendors and internal IT teams. Additionally, the engineer will support PDM/PLM systems such as Windchill, SolidWorks PDM, and Oracle Agile

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:

  • Provide technical support for CAD applications like PTC Creo parametric, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solid Edge applications to global engineering users.
  • Troubleshoot CAD application, licensing, and user issues and ensure quick resolution.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and upgrade of MCAD application on client workstations.
  • Monitor network license usage, generate utilization reports, and make recommendations for license optimization.
  • Work closely with software vendors and internal IT teams for timely issue resolution.
  • Assist with CAD standardization, templates, macros, and automation improvements.
  • Support integrations between MCAD tools and PDM/PLM systems including Windchill and Oracle Agile.
  • Assist in CAD/PLM upgrade projects, testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for engineering systems and processes.
  • Provide user training and guidance where required.

Qualifications:

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience Creo Parametric, Windchill and at least one of other MCAD tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Solid Edge.
  • Strong understanding of MCAD fundamentals: 3D part modeling, Assemblies, Drawings and Design best practices.
  • Working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems such as Windchill, Oracle Agile
  • Good understanding of license management systems (FlexLM)
  • Experience in troubleshooting installation, performance, and configuration issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills for working with global end users and vendors
