Python Automation Test Engineer- Kolkata, Hyderabad

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Python Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in Python, a solid understanding of software testing principles, and hands-on experience with test automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust test automation frameworks using Python

• Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing

• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions

• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and report bugs using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla)

• Maintain and enhance existing automation test suites

• Work with APIs (REST/GraphQL) to validate backend functionality

• Ensure high quality and reliability of product releases through automation

• Create and manage test data, perform data validations, and contribute to performance testing if required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in test automation using Python

• Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as:

  • PyTest, Unittest, Robot Framework, Behave

  • Selenium WebDriver (with Python bindings)

  • API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Requests, RestAssured)

• Proficient in working with Git, Jenkins, and other CI/CD tools

• Good understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) and Agile methodologies

• Familiarity with SQL and working with databases for test validations

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Experience with BDD/TDD frameworks

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes

• Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust)

• ISTQB or other QA certifications
