Mech JD
The mechanical & thermal team is an integrated part of HW organization, responsible for varieties of complex electro-mechanical designs, which includes but are not limited to central office networking products (product ranges from 1RU to 40RU sizes), outdoor mobility equipment, high performance thermal solutions and complex PCB assemblies
Who You Are
Hands on mechanical design experience in electro-mechanical packaging of standalone and rack mount chassis systems used in telecom industries using Pro/e or CREO
Chassis concept/architecture, establishing optimized printed circuit board (PCB) size(s) and outline, developing sheet-metal enclosures to meet intended performance and cost targets, power shelf and power distribution design
Perform detailed MCAD product layout studies to ensure project objectives are met and work on the detail fabrication drawings (sheet-metal, plastic, cable, labels, etc.) and assembly drawings required for project prototype release
Special emphasis on product design for low cost (high volume) and ease of manufacture is required
Good command on tolerance analysis and DFM/DFA concepts
Thermal simulation & validation experience would be an added advantage
Experience : 13+ years of hands-on design experience with BE or MTech in Mechanical branch

Who You Are
- Responsible to support thermal design requirements for telecom systems which include system, board, and package level designs.
- Responsible for thermal performance assessment, improvements and optimization of such designs using thermal simulations, experimentation and validation techniques
- Work with cross-functional teams to define system thermal specifications, work with suppliers to get thermal data, preparing thermal simulation reports, develop test plans and submitting test reports with final recommendations
Skills
- FloTherm thermal simulation expertise is must
- Hands-on experience with thermal and airflow validation techniques using thermocouples & data acquisition systems, flow-benches (wind-tunnel), flow sensors and concepts of acoustic measurements
- Experience in 3D modeling of sheet-metal enclosure and PCB layout designs would be an added advantage
- Excellent oral & written communication skills and ability to interact with marketing & customers on project objectives
- Good understanding of safety and regulatory compliance requirements for telecom equipment
Education & Experience
- BS/MS/PhD in mechanical/thermal engineering with 13+ years of work experience and a strong background in implementing thermal designs for standalone and rack-mount chassis systems used in telecom industries.
