Role profile - OSM
Role purpose:
Assess, design and implement new OSM cartridges to ensure reaching the required business needs.
Application operation (Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Operations, Deployment) experience of Oracle OSM
Support test teams, and business product managers throughout testing phases of the releases.
Support deployment including writing deployment guides, raising RFCs.
Collaborate with the rest of the team to design & implement capability enhancements.
Report & highlight to Service Fulfilment Domain manager any risks or issues in design and build.
Support operations team in analysing issues reported in live environment.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Delivering required business & technology releases according to schedule and with quality meeting standards.
Prepare all the needed RFCs and Change requests for Service Management according to the SLA.
Ensure all documentation is complete and following the quality standards.
Highlights any risk or issue that may affect in progress and delivered design and performance of the system.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
6+ years' experience in product & solution development in a Telco or at a technology vendor with a telecommunication focus.
Knowledge of Voice, Data, Video, Wireless technologies
Knowledge of TMF/eTOM, RODOD & RSDOD frameworks
Ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty, and incomplete information when evaluating alternatives and making recommendations
Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks
Creative and abstract thinking skills to envision and design innovative solutions to business opportunities and challenges
Proven ability to work independently; designing, developing and deploying solutions, and to deliver projects on time with minimal direction
Ability to listen and evaluate all opinions without bias, and contribute to a common culture of excellence
Extensive technical knowledge of Information Technology field and computer systems
Strong communication skills (written, interpersonal, presentation), with the ability to easily and effectively interact and negotiate with business stakeholders
Strong ability to pick up complex concepts and processes quickly
Proven leadership abilities including ability to share knowledge, resolve conflict and create consensus
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
Technical degree or equivalent.
Software engineering background
Skills:
Able to convert the Functional Requirements into a Technical Design Document.
Sound knowledge of Telecom OSS Order Management and Provisioning applications and requirements. Familiarity with Enterprise Telecom business services, Fixed and Mobile Products Services.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Application Development involving OSM 7.0.X/7.2.x/7.3.x.
Must possess good domain understanding for Complex Order Decomposition/Orchestration.
Good understanding of COM, SOM, TOM OSM layers.
Sound knowledge of OSM architecture.
Possess sound knowledge of following OSM concepts:
- Central Order Management
- Decomposition rules
- In flight Order change management
- Service Order Management
- Product spec and Product class mappings and modelling Integration experience of OSM 7.0.x/7.2.x/7.3.x
- Conceptual model entities CFS, RFS, Resources, Products, Provider Functions, OTM etc.
Candidate should have implemented integration of Oracle OSM with Inventory Management and Activation systems in SOM area and should have implemented/customized OSM COM based integration Implementation experience of OSM Automation using XSLT, XQuery, Java and DB Plugin Hands on experience in areas of Java/J2EE, OSM based XML APIs and Web Services, WebLogic, Oracle PL/SQL and SQL.
Sound knowledge of PIP 2.0.1, 2.1.0 etc
Candidate should have good knowledge of Oracle OSM, both from an infra as well as functional perspective.
Candidate should have good exposure to Linux and Unix operating systems.
Candidate should have experience in OSM installation on clustered environment.
Good to have following
- Weblogic and Managed servers troubleshooting.
- Load controlling.
- Incident and problem management.
- RCA of the issue.
