  • The position in discussion is with Capability Hubs (CH) DAS & Advisory Markets Research team at KPMG Global Services (KGS), which is an integral part of the firm's strategy to enhance innovation, build scalability, and improve profitability. It is a multi-capability team delivering insights and sales enablement support to KPMG member firms. This capability is currently ~200 members' strong.

Educational qualifications

  • Total experience: The candidate must have 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

  • MBA / M.Com/ PG in Commerce

Preferred technical & functional skills

  • Proficiency in MS-Office - Intermediate/Advanced MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Word.

  • Knowledge of preparing Information Memorandum analysis, M&A studies, target screening, private equity reports, industry landscapes, company analysis and thought leaderships.

  • Experience in using specialized databases and free sources.

  • Excellent report writing and PPT skills ability to weave together a story starting with a problem statement and presenting it in a high impact manner suitable for senior leadership.

  • A pragmatic approach to analysis and problem solving; ability to drive through to an outcome in circumstances of complexity and ambiguity.

  • Ability to assess technical information to distill key strategic insights and convey these succinctly, clearly and confidently, verbally and in written form.

  • Excellent business communication (structuring, writing, speaking and articulation) and Excellent interpersonal skills.

Key attributes (Research):

  • Contribute to research and benchmarking assignments - either as a part of an ongoing client engagement, or as a part of business development efforts conducted by the entity

  • Conceive, design, and execute secondary research on:

Company: business model, segments, revenue model, strategy, issues / challenges, M&A history, competitive positioning, organization structure, key management, recent developments, SWOT, etc.

Market: industry value chain, size and growth outlook, trends and drivers, growth inhibitors and challenges, competitive landscape, Porter's / PESTLE analysis, etc.

Benchmarking: basic understanding of the role of support functions, operational KPI benchmarking, and vendor assessment from a business perspective

Financials: broad analysis of income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, ratios, segment performance, etc.

Competitors: comparative performance of companies on financial and operational KPIs, relative strengths and weaknesses, etc.

  • Guide juniors (if required) across stages of projects - from communicating client requirements, scoping and work allocation. Support in review across secondary research, data analysis and discussions.

  • Articulate findings through visually appealing / appropriate frameworks and in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct business English (both written and verbal)

  • Ensure effective presentation of client deliverables - prepare client ready presentations that are well structured, logical, and clear to understand.

  • Upskill junior team members to add stronger value by providing training and coaching on different projects / activities and support in reviewing the work performed by the team.

  • Showcase a greater degree of flexibility, steer well through complexity/ambiguity and cater to everchanging requirements from the Leadership
