Position Overview:
Our client is scaling BI across the company and is seeking a Senior Analyst who can develop end-to-end dashboarding in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, with working knowledge of backend data practices (Snowflake & medallion modeling).

This position will turn ambiguous business questions into useable analytics used by ELT and go-to-market teams every day. This includes but is not limited to Power BI (and/or Fabric, Tableau, Looker, Superset, Mode) to deliver visually outstanding, flexible dashboards backed by reusable semantic models and governance. Light Snowflake/SQL skills are expected to partner with the data engineering team.

Job Requirements:
Front-end analytics & UX (heavy emphasis):
  • Design and ship executive-grade dashboards with a consistent design system, themes, and layout patterns; optimize for clarity, accessibility, and mobile.
  • Build reusable visual components (cards, KPI tiles, small multiples, sparklines, decomposition trees) and reusable page templates that teams can self-serve.
  • Implement filter persistence and global UX (synced slicers, disconnected Period tables, calculation groups) so selections carry across all reports.
  • Create custom visuals or extend visuals when needed (TypeScript/React/Vega/Vega-Lite a plus).
  • Partner with Snowflake engineers to shape Gold views/tables for BI; write and perform SQL tasks
  • Understand tasks, warehouses, masking/tags; ensure models are cost-aware and scalable.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patters and insights.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) processes
  • Manage and maintain performance and availability of all dashboards real time
  • Design and implement quick prototype models for dashboards
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure the accuracy and reliability of BI solutions
Required:
  • 5–8+ years in BI/analytics; 4+ years deep Power BI (Desktop + Service) with a portfolio of high-adoption reports.
  • Advanced DAX (time-intelligence, virtual tables, iterator vs filter context), Power Query (M), star schema design.
  • Microsoft Fabric hands-on (Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse, Pipelines, Capacities) or strong Synapse/Databricks experience with fast ramp to Fabric.
  • Performance tuning: query folding, composite models, incremental refresh, aggregation tables, calculation groups.
  • Security & governance: RLS/OLS, endorsements, lineage, workspace/admin basics.
  • Tooling: DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, XMLA endpoints, Deployment Pipelines, Power BI Admin portal.
  • Solid SQL; able to validate against Snowflake tables/views and reason about medallion architecture.
  • Communication: crisp storytelling with data; able to run workshops with finance, sales, product, and execs.
  • Full Professional Proficiency in English is required
Preferred:
  • Snowflake basics (tasks, warehouses, tagging, masking policies) and cost/perf awareness.
  • Azure stack: Azure AD/Entra, Key Vault, Logic Apps/Power Automate, Functions; GitHub/ADO CI/CD.
  • Exposure to Salesforce/SAP data models; APIs/SharePoint integration; S3 or data lake patterns.
  • Python for light data prep/quality checks.
  • Experience with AI-assisted analytics (e.g., Snowflake Cortex/Analyst or Copilots) and semantic layer design.

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's in CS/IS/Engineering/Math (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or Fabric Analytics Engineer (DP-600).
