Senior Unix System Administrator

Key Responsibilities:\n\n- Administer, maintain, and support UNIX/Linux systems, primarily Oracle Linux (OEL), in on‑prem and cloud environments\n- Assist in the installation, configuration and management of UNIX servers\n- Provision, configure, and maintain compute, storage, and networking resources in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)\n- Manage and support virtualization platforms using Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM)\n- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, patching, and upgrades\n- Help troubleshoot end-user issues\n- Create and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures\n- Ensure systems comply with security standards, hardening guidelines, and operational best practices\n- Collaborate with application teams, database administrators, storage, and network teams\n- Participate in IT projects as assigned\n\nQualifications:\n\n- 2–5 years of experience administering UNIX/Linux systems in enterprise environments\n- Two or Four-year degree in related field, or equivalent experience preferred.\n- Proficiency with shell scripting (Bash or similar) for routine administration tasks\n- Ability to understand, interpret, and glean results from complex technical relationships.\n- Ability to complete projects/tasks on time.\n- Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, OEL or Red Hat required, Debian based a plus.\n- Excellent service-driven customer-focused skills.\n- Proven ability to work in both a team environment and independently. Exhibit a high level of individual initiative.\n- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and successfully follow-to-completion all assigned tasks.\n- Excellent reading, oral, written and interpersonal communications skills.\n- Work from verbal and written instructions or requirements of varying levels of detail.\n- Proven ability to absorb, master and leverage emerging technologies. Strong problem-solving abilities.\n\nNice to Have Qualifications:\n\n- Exposure to automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef\n- Experience with other cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)\n- Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
