Job Role - Lead - Global Immigration
Location - Bangalore Only
Role Overview:
The Lead – Global Immigration will be responsible for driving immigration compliance, audit readiness, and process transformation across global entities. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure robust governance, seamless operations, and regulatory adherence across all immigration-related processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Subsidiary Integration & Process Governance
- Conduct data collection, due diligence, and initial assessments for subsidiary integration.
- Analyze findings and publish detailed gap assessment reports with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including HR, Legal, Finance, Risk, OD, Compensation & Benefits, subsidiaries, and external vendors to streamline immigration processes.
- Map and document AS-IS and TO-BE process flows to drive process standardization and efficiency.
- Track and ensure timely completion of periodic compliance certifications across entities.
- Partner with HR and Information Systems teams to onboard and automate immigration processes.
2.Audit Framework & Compliance Management
- Design and implement a comprehensive audit framework for Global Immigration processes, covering:
- International travel
- Work assignments
- New hires and mobility cases
- Conduct periodic internal audits and assessments to ensure compliance robustness and process effectiveness.
- Ensure continuous improvement of compliance controls and operational processes.
3. Audit Management & Stakeholder Coordination
- Lead and anchor audits conducted by:
- Internal auditors
- SOX and CCAT teams
- External vendors and government authorities
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, external stakeholders, and Global
- Immigration colleagues to ensure smooth audit execution.
- Track audit findings and drive timely closure of all action items.
4. Systems & Process Enhancement
- Collaborate with Information Systems (IS) teams for automation and strengthening of controls across systems such as:
- GloMo, iTravel, Timesheet
- ALCON, Payworld, Reference Portal
- SAP, eDocket
- Lead end-to-end system enhancement lifecycle including:
- Business Requirement Document (BRD) preparation
- Requirement discussions
- Review of requirement specifications (RS)
- Participation in solution demos
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business validation
- Final sign-offs
5. Awareness & Communication
- Develop and execute an organization-wide awareness strategy on immigration compliance.
- Draft policies, guidance documents, and periodic communication (emails, advisories, updates).
- Conduct training sessions and awareness workshops for stakeholders.
- Design, update, and maintain SharePoint or similar platforms as a centralized knowledge repository.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of global immigration processes and compliance frameworks
- Expertise in audit management, SOX controls, and regulatory compliance
- Proven experience in process mapping, transformation, and automation
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience working with enterprise systems (SAP, HRMS, mobility systems)
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in global mobility or immigration compliance roles
- Exposure to multinational environments and cross-border regulations
- Experience managing audits involving external regulators or government bodies
- Familiarity with automation and digital transformation initiatives
