Job Description

Role Overview

You will lead end-to-end medical writing and content submission operations , ensuring all deliverables are scientifically accurate, compliant with brand and AMA guidelines , and delivered on time. The role combines scientific leadership, people management, and operational oversight , including MLR readiness and quality governance.


Key Responsibilities

Content & Scientific Leadership

  • Oversee development and review of scientific and medical content (manuscripts, abstracts, slide decks, posters, digital assets)
  • Interpret clinical data and translate it into clear, audience-appropriate communication
  • Ensure adherence to AMA style, brand guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Conduct rigorous QC, proofreading, and fact-checking


MLR & Compliance

  • Oversee and support MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) submissions for content deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and external regulatory requirements
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and review traceability
  • Work with platforms such as Veeva Vault (preferred)


Team & Delivery Management

  • Manage and mentor writers across levels , driving capability building and career development
  • Allocate resources and balance workload across accounts/programs
  • Oversee multiple deliverables across brands, therapy areas, or portfolios
  • Drive quality governance, review oversight, and process improvements


Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Partner with medical experts, clients, and cross-functional teams
  • Lead scientific discussions, reviewer meetings, and alignment calls
  • Handle escalations related to content interpretation, review feedback, or scope changes
  • Contribute to proposals and new business opportunities


Research & Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct literature searches and evidence gathering (e.g., PubMed)
  • Stay updated on therapeutic area trends and publication practices
  • Strengthen templates, workflows, and quality checkpoints


Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences / Pharmacy / Medicine or related field
  • 8–12 years of experience in medical writing / publications / healthcare communications
  • Proven experience in leading accounts, portfolios, or publication programs
  • Strong understanding of scientific communication, publication ethics, and content workflows
  • Experience in team leadership, resource planning, and stakeholder management
  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Office, EndNote, PubMed , and Veeva Vault (preferred)
  • Certifications such as CMPP / AMWA are a plus
