About the Role
The Regional Head – Retail MF Sales is responsible for leading and growing the retail mutual fund business across the assigned region. The role focuses on expanding AUM, SIP book, and market share by building strong distributor relationships, driving sales execution, and developing high- performing regional teams, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards.
What You’ll Do
Drive retail MF sales across the region through MFDs, IFAs, NDs, banks, and other retail distribution channels
Achieve regional AUM, SIP, net sales, and revenue targets in line with organizational goals
Build, manage, and deepen relationships with key distributors and strategic partners
Lead, mentor, and develop regional sales teams to ensure productivity and capability building
Expand distributor footprint, improve wallet share, and increase product penetration across equity, hybrid, and debt schemes
Plan and execute distributor engagement programs, investor awareness initiatives, and marketing campaigns
Monitor competitive landscape, market trends, and distributor feedback to drive strategy refinement
Ensure adherence to SEBI regulations, AMFI guidelines, and internal compliance processes
Collaborate with product, marketing, operations, and compliance teams to ensure smooth business execution
Provide regular performance reviews, MIS, and market insights to senior management.
What We’re Looking For
10–15+ years of experience in mutual fund sales, with a strong focus on retail distribution
Proven experience in managing large regions and leading multi-location sales teams
Strong existing relationships with MFDs, IFAs, NDs, and banking partners in the region
Deep understanding of MF products, distributor dynamics, and retail investor behavior
NISM/AMFI certification mandatory
Proficiency in MS Excel and documentation management
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Regional AUM growth and net sales achievement
SIP book growth (new SIPs, ticket size, and retention)
Distributor activation, productivity, and wallet share improvement
Market share growth in the assigned region
Achievement of revenue and profitability targets
Team productivity, hiring, retention, and capability development
Compliance adherence and audit outcomes
