The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing and overseeing core accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, timely closings, and compliance with Indian statutory requirements, including GST, Income Tax, and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS). This role plays a key part in month‑end close, reconciliations, audit support, and continuous improvement of accounting processes, often within a shared services or global delivery model

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Close
- Perform and review month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and provisions
- Prepare and review balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of variances
- Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with Ind AS / local GAAP and company accounting policies
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and support filing of GST returns (GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B, reconciliations, and related compliance)
- Support TDS, TCS, and Income Tax compliance activities in coordination with tax advisors
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for statutory and regulatory submissions
- Stay current on changes to Indian tax and accounting regulations
Audit & Controls
- Support internal, statutory, and external audits, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor queries
- Execute and maintain internal controls over financial reporting
- Assist in remediation of audit findings and control observations
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in India
- Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, GST, TDS, and Indian statutory requirements
- Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and audit support
- Proven experience managing month‑end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and audits
- Working proficiency in English preferred
