We are seeking a Principal Workday Core HCM Consultant to provide functional and technical leadership for the enterprise Workday HCM platform. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing Workday Core HCM with emphasis on Business Process Framework (BPF) modifications, Reporting, Benefits, Compensation, Absence Management, Security, Performance Management.
The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), partnering with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient HCM solutions while supporting ongoing enhancements and production stability.
Experience Level: 10 – 15 years in HR/Payroll data analysis and HCM systems

Key Responsibilities:
Workday Core HCM Functional
- Act as the Principal SME for Workday Core HCM modules, ensuring best-practice design and configuration.
- Lead end-to-end analysis, design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday HCM solutions.
- Provide guidance on Workday roadmap alignment and feature adoption.
- Design and maintain complex business process configurations, approvals, conditions, notifications, and validations.
- Optimize HCM business processes to support organizational changes, compliance requirements, and automation goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve business process and transaction framework issues.
- Configure and support Compensation plans, eligibility rules, compensation cycles, and annual review processes.
- Manage Absence Management configurations including accruals, eligibility, time-off plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with HR COEs to ensure accurate rule configuration and employee experience.
- Design, build, and maintain Workday advanced, composite, and matrix reports.
- Enable data-driven decisions by delivering accurate dashboards and insights to HR and leadership.
- Support audit, compliance, and ad-hoc reporting needs.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to translate business requirements into Workday solutions.
- Provide mentorship and functional guidance to junior Workday analysts and consultants.
- Support change management, testing cycles, and production releases.
- Deep hands-on experience with Workday Core HCM configuration and support.
- Strong expertise in Business Process Framework (BPF) design and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with Compensation and Absence Management modules.
- Advanced reporting skills including Advanced, Composite, and Calculated Fields.
- Experience supporting large, global Workday environments.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and data governance.
- Workday HCM certification (Core HCM, Compensation, or Absence).
- Exposure to global HR operational models and regulatory requirements.
- Experience participating in Workday implementations, upgrades, or migrations
- Strong consultative and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Ability to lead initiatives independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance.
- System Stability: ≥ 99.9% uptime for Core HCM-related processes.
- Business Process Accuracy: Reduction in HCM process-related errors and rework.
