Senior Associate - Lead, Internships
Job Description
Strategy & Program Development:\nDevise and implement the annual internship strategy aligned with the school’s academic and placement goals\nIdentify and establish internship goals, targets, and timelines each academic year\nFormulate workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for end-to-end internship processes\nDevise key performance metrics to monitor program effectiveness and report outcomes to senior leadership\n\n2. Recruiter Outreach & Engagement:\nIdentify, build, and maintain relationships with international organizations, law firms, corporate legal teams, judiciary bodies, NGOs, and policy organizations as internship hosts\nConduct outreach campaigns to onboard new recruiters and retain existing partners\nNegotiate internship agreements, stipend structures, and role definitions with employer partners\nFacilitate recruiter presentations, campus visits, and information sessions for students\n\n3. Student Outreach & Counselling:\nCounsel students on internship opportunities, career pathways, application strategies, and professional conduct expectations\nGuide students through the internship application lifecycle, including document preparation, interview readiness, and onboarding\nAddress and resolve student concerns related to internship placements, workplace issues, and post-internship evaluations\nMaintain updated records of student internship history, feedback, and performance outcomes\n\n4.
Student Training & Skill Development:\nDesign and deliver pre-internship training modules covering professional skills, legal drafting, research techniques, and workplace etiquette\nCollaborate with faculty and industry professionals to conduct workshops, mock interviews, and networking events\nEvaluate training effectiveness and update curriculum based on industry feedback and student outcomes\n\n5. Performance Metrics & Reporting:\nDefine, track, and report KPIs such as internship conversion rates, recruiter satisfaction scores, and student placement statistics\nPrepare periodic reports and presentations for the Dean and senior leadership on program performance\nBenchmark internship outcomes against peer law schools and recommend program improvements\n\nExperience:\n3–5 years in career counselling, legal recruitment, law school placement, or related field\n\nQualification:\nEssential: LL.B. (Graduate in Law) from a recognized university\nPreferred: Master’s Degree (Preferably in Law)\n\nKey Skills & Competencies:\nStrategic planning and program management\nStakeholder management – students, faculty, and external recruiters\nStrong communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills\nData-driven mindset: ability to define, track, and interpret KPIs\nStudent counselling and mentoring ability\nTraining design and facilitation\n\nPrerequisite Knowledge:\nUnderstanding of legal industry landscape – international organizations, law firms, in-house counsel, judiciary, and public interest law\nFamiliarity with careers, internship & placement operations in educational institutions\nProficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\nExperience with placement management tools preferred
