Safety Trainer Aviation


Role Overview

Safety Trainer will be responsible for training airport staff on protocols that ensure a secure apron environment and smooth terminal & cargo operations. Their role is governed by DGCA and IATA standards. The role focuses specifically training on the systematic approach to managing ground-level risks.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Safety Training Delivery: Conduct Safety trainings – Safety Management Systems (SMS), Ramp Safety, Warehouse safety, Workshop Safety, Emergency procedures & Human Factors for the ground operations staff & Management.
  • Emergency Response: Instruct personnel on fire-fighting, spill containment, and emergency evacuation protocols specific to Ramp, Terminal & Cargo operations.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and update training modules & materials to reflect new aviation laws, safety management systems (SMS), industry trends and training need analysis. Create comprehensive training content, manuals, and supporting documents tailored to operational needs.
  • Compliance & Audits: Conduct random audits and competency evaluations to ensure all ground operations are aligned with DGCA regulatory requirements. Face Airline/ regulatory audits with reference to Safety trainings and compliances.
  • Hazard Identification: Training ground staff on how to proactively identify and report hazards related to Ramp, Terminal & Cargo operations.
  • Risk Assessment: Training supervisors & Managers on how to use risk matrices to evaluate the severity and probability of ground incidents. To interpret safety performance indicators (SPIs) and safety performance targets (SPTs) to prevent future accidents.
  • Training Records: Maintain training records: Track, document, and manage training records in compliance with company & regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned: Support operational and safety initiatives as required by management.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum- Bachelor’s degree or higher education.


RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Staff should possess the following experiences:


  • A person must have worked in the capacity of Safety Manager for at least one year and preferably has undergone a Train the Trainer Course.

OR

  • Should possess technical background and at least five years of operational.
  • Experience in aviation to understand the systems that support operations or the
  • Product/ service provided by the organization. These personnel could be
  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer / Dispatcher/ Load & Trime Sheet
  • Personnel/ Cabin Crew/ Graduate Engineer, ATCO, Aerodrome operations/
  • Maintenance planning experts
  • Supervisor & above grade with Minimum Five years’ experience in Safety Management System Implementation
  • Preferably undergone Safety Management Systems training as per requirements of DGCA CAR Section 1 Series C Part 1.

  • Fluency in English and Hindi is essential for clear communication with diverse trainees
