You will have a proven track record of developing on GNME 5.3.x, delivering high-quality solutions to engineering and operational users. This role combines hands-on development, system configuration, and support, with a strong emphasis on collaboration within a team environment.

You Will
• Develop and maintain applications primarily using Magik
• Design and manage data models using the Smallworld CASE Tool and CASE scripting
• Configure GNME components including ACE, Styles, Authorisation, State Models, and Themes
• Develop and support GNME Desktop and Web applications
• Support live services through incident, problem, and request management within SSEN's service framework
• Automate manual processes using scripting, dashboards, and monitoring tools (e.g. Kibana) to improve efficiency and reliability

You Have
• Strong experience with Smallworld GNME 5.3.x (Desktop, Web, GIS Adapter, Job Manager)
• Experience working with containerised environments such as Kubernetes, ideally in Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, YAML, Linux, and Windows CMD
• Solid experience with the Smallworld Magik programming language
• Practical experience using GNME Desktop across the full design lifecycle (data capture, modelling, analysis, tracing)
• A good understanding of electricity networks and their representation within GNME
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, or GitHub Actions
• Ideally, experience or understanding of Maximo, Oracle Fusion/WebLogic, Smallworld GSA, and Safe FME
