About The Job:
- The Application Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing business-critical software applications.
- You will serve as the technical point of contact to resolve production issues, ensure high system availability, and implement minor enhancements or bug fixes.
- Incident Management: Monitor application health, investigate production bugs, and resolve tickets within SLA timelines.
- Problem Resolution: Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring technical glitches to provide permanent fixes.
- System Monitoring: Use APM tools to track application performance, system logs, and server health.
- Deployment Support: Assist DevOps teams with code deployments, patches, environment configuration, and data migrations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to escalate complex bugs.
- Documentation: Maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical knowledge bases.
Technical Skills Required
- Operating Systems: Strong command-line proficiency in Linux/Unix or Windows Server environments.
- Databases: Excellent hands-on experience writing complex queries in SQL (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL).
- Programming/Scripting: Ability to read code and write automation scripts using Python, Bash, Shell, or PowerShell.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Basic knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and container tools like Docker/Kubernetes.
- Monitoring Tools: Hands-on experience with tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic, Datadog, or ELK Stack.
- ITIL Framework: Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management) using tools like ServiceNow or Jira.
