Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our in-house legal team as a Senior Legal Associate. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in commercial contracts, litigation, real estate, intellectual property rights (IPR), project management – legal & compliance department, and people management with a strong background in managing legal affairs within corporate environments. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and a collaborative mindset to support business operations and mitigate legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management & Negotiation

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including vendor agreements, NDAs, SLAs, and licensing deals. Ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation across all contractual engagements.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Oversee litigation matters, liaise with external counsel, and develop strategies for dispute resolution. Represent the company in legal proceedings when necessary. This includes appearance before various courts, labor offices and courts, etc.

Real Estate & Property Law

Manage legal aspects of property acquisitions, leases, and development projects. Ensure documentation and regulatory compliance for real estate transactions.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

Advise on IP strategy, protection, and enforcement. Handle trademark filings, copyright issues, and licensing agreements.

Legal Affairs & Governance

Provide legal counsel to internal stakeholders across departments. Monitor regulatory changes and advise on legal implications for business operations.

Reporting & Documentation (Project Management)

Prepare and present legal reports, risk assessments, and compliance updates to senior management. Maintain organized records of legal documents and case files.

Leadership & Team Collaboration (People Management)

Mentor junior legal staff and foster a collaborative team environment. Lead cross-functional initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in law (LLB); Master's degree (LLM) and/or CS preferred but not mandatory. Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in an in-house legal counsel role. Strong understanding of Indian legal frameworks and corporate law. Proven experience in commercial contracts, litigation, real estate, and IPR. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure. Strong leadership qualities and a team-oriented approach. Proficiency in preparing legal reports and presenting to senior leadership.
