Senior Revenue Accountant

As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing Toast's global revenue accounting processes. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Finance, Billing Operations, and Enterprise Applications to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in revenue recognition.

A day in the life (Responsibilities)

• Analyze revenue transactions to ensure data accuracy and proper accounting treatment within the ERP system (NetSuite) and the revenue system (Zoura Revenue / RevPro).
• Prepare and review monthly revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses in compliance with Company policies and US GAAP (ASC 606).
• Collaborate closely with GL Accounting, Billing Operations, and FP&A teams to support all month-end close activities.
• Drive cross-functional projects and process improvements impacting revenue accounting and reporting.
• Support the design, implementation, and execution of key revenue controls and system enhancements within NetSuite and Zoura.
• Draft and maintain whitepapers and documentation related to revenue policies, controls, and accounting positions.
• Participate in system migration, automation, and integration initiatives in partnership with the business systems team.
• Identify and execute opportunities for continuous process improvement to enhance accuracy and efficiency across revenue workflows.

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)

• A minimum Bachelor's degree in any area, or related discipline
• 4+ years of experience in revenue recognition or revenue accounting, preferably within the SaaS or technology industry.
• Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and its application.
• Proven ability to perform complex revenue accounting tasks and apply accounting guidance appropriately.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets effectively.
• Hands-on experience with Zuora Revenue, NetSuite, and Salesforce. (Preferred / Nice to have)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex accounting concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to work in UK time zones (2 PM to 11 PM IST) to support global accounting operations and monthly close cycles.
• This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in the Chennai oice.

What will help you stand out (Nice to Have)

• Experience with SQL/Sequel.
• Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant).
• Experience in system implementation, process automation, or ERP migration projects.
