Assistant Manager Sales (Trade Referral)


Department: Marketing & Business Development

Location: Mumbai


Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager Sales (Hospital Marketing) will be responsible for driving IPD (InPatient Department) business by developing strong referral networks with family physicians, general practitioners, and clinics. The role focuses on increasing patient inflow, strengthening doctor engagement, and contributing to the overall revenue growth of the hospital.


Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Referral Development

  • Develop and manage relationships with family physicians, GPs, and referral partners.
  • Identify, map, and onboard new referring doctors within the assigned territory.
  • Promote hospital services, specialties, and consultants to external stakeholders.
  • Ensure regular followups to maintain longterm engagement and consistent referral flow.
  • Coordinate with consultants, operations, and front office teams for seamless patient conversion.
  • Maintain MIS reports related to referrals and share insights with senior management.
  • Support marketing campaigns, outreach programs, and brandbuilding initiatives.
  • Gather market intelligence and provide competition analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and ethical business practices.


Strategic Growth Programs


  • Achieve growth in IPD referrals from family physicians.
  • Onboard and activate new referring doctors.
  • Improve OPDtoIPD conversion ratio.
  • Contribute to territorywise revenue targets.
  • Organize CMEs, health talks, and doctorengagement activities.

  • Willingness to travel within assigned territories.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal communication, and followthrough.
  • Proactive approach to problemsolving and relationship management.


Technical / Functional Competencies

  • Understanding of hospital marketing systems

Education & Experience Requirements

Qualifications

Graduate in any discipline (MBA in Marketing preferred).


Experience


  • 36 years of experience in hospital marketing/healthcare sales.
  • Industry Preference: Hospitals, Healthcare, Diagnostics, Pharma.
  • Ability to work in a targetdriven environment.


Skills


  • Strong relationship management and networking capability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Resultdriven with strong negotiation abilities.
  • Good understanding of hospital services and the healthcare ecosystem.
