Manager, Legal & Compliance
The role
We're on the lookout for a Manager - Legal & Compliance to join our team at Headout. In this role, you'll support the execution of Headout's global and Indian corporate governance framework as part of a lean Legal & Compliance team. You'll be hands-on with day-to-day compliance and secretarial processes, while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and cross-functional teams.
You will play a key role in managing secretarial compliances, ensuring timely execution, and improving processes through automation and technology. You'll also work across global entities, labour law compliance, and governance initiatives-while stepping in as an independent driver when needed to move tasks across the finish line.
This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly influence governance standards, compliance efficiency, and the evolution of a tech-enabled legal and compliance function.
What Makes This Role Special
- Drive end-to-end corporate secretarial processes including board meetings, statutory registers, and ROC filings.
- Own and support global compliance across international subsidiaries (US, Europe, Southeast Asia, etc.).
- Collaborate with multiple teams, auditors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless compliance execution.
- Lead automation-first initiatives to streamline legal and compliance workflows using AI and technology.
- Work across labour laws, health & safety compliance, and global governance frameworks.
- Gain exposure to multi-jurisdictional compliance in a fast-paced, global environment.
What Skills & Experience You Need
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably in a fast-paced, multinational or venture-backed environment.
- Qualified Company Secretary (ICSI member) with an LL.B degree.
- Strong working knowledge of the Companies Act, 2013, corporate secretarial practices, and labour & Health & Safety laws.
- Hands-on experience in managing end-to-end secretarial processes and corporate actions.
- Familiarity with global entity management and cross-border compliance requirements.
- Experience with FEMA/RBI compliances, filings, and regulatory coordination.
- Ability to design trackers, improve processes, and drive execution with high accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail with a "zero-error" mindset.
- Ability to break down ambiguous compliance requirements and execute in a structured manner.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to data privacy frameworks such as GDPR and India's DPDP Act.
- Experience supporting international subsidiaries and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
- Familiarity with AI-driven automation in legal and compliance workflows.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing standard commercial contracts (NDAs, MSAs, vendor agreements).
