Job Overview: The Device Health & Monitoring Backend Developer will focus on building, enhancing, and scaling backend systems for monitoring the health of IoT devices and accessories. The role involves working on large-scale, cloud-hosted SaaS platforms that process massive volumes of real-time data, with strong ownership across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Device Health & Monitoring

  • Understand IoT devices and accessories to build and enhance device monitoring and health solutions.
  • Develop systems for device health monitoring, including camera, LTE, GPS, storage, power, RTC, and accessories.
  • Implement device online/offline detection and recovery mechanisms.
  • Design health state transitions and root cause classification for device issues.

Backend & Platform Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, reliable, and reusable backend services.
  • Build and test large-scale SaaS products that process massive volumes of real-time data.
  • Develop efficient, cloud-hosted services and data processing pipelines.
  • Build and operate highly scalable systems that process hundreds of millions of IoT sensor events per day.

System Design & Execution

  • Analyse product requirements and translate them into clear technical designs and tasks.
  • Execute projects across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Design APIs with low response times and efficient resource utilization for large data sets.
  • Design and implement highly scalable data processing pipelines.

Ownership & Collaboration

  • Work independently with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Debug complex issues, analyse root causes, and provide effective solutions.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong programming experience in Java.
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals, especially algorithms, data structures, OOPS, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot and ORM frameworks.
  • Good understanding of database internals and schema design for different data stores (RDBMS, NoSQL).
  • Experience in designing and developing APIs for large-scale data systems with low latency.
  • Experience working in a client-server, cloud-hosted environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have / Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AWS is highly desirable.
  • Experience designing systems for large-scale, real-time data processing.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

B.Tech / M.Tech in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
