Job Purpose: Lead - SCM Civil & Structure is responsible for providing strategic oversight, ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion and procurement of all construction activities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The role focuses on managing resources, collaborating with stakeholders, driving process improvements, and fostering long-term growth and innovation in project execution. Additionally, the lead is responsible for cultivating positive relationships with communities and ensuring sustainable practices in line with organizational objectives.

Educational Qualifications

Graduation in Engineering / Commerce / Science

MBA or PG Diploma in Materials Management / Supply Chain (preferred)

Work Experience

10-15+ years of experience in stores / inventory management, preferably in renewable energy, infrastructure, or EPC environments

Proven experience in multi-location store operations, inventory governance, and audit/compliance

Strong exposure to SAP MM or equivalent ERP systems

Key Skills

Strong understanding of material management, inventory control, and reconciliation practices

Expertise in SAP-based store transactions and reporting

Analytical ability to interpret consumption trends, ageing, and inventory risks

Strong people management capability with focus on building high-performing, motivated teams across multiple locations

Ability to drive employee morale, engagement, and accountability, especially in remote/site-based environments

Proven capability to provide regular feedback, coaching, and development support to team members

Strong stakeholder management and team leadership capabilities

High focus on accuracy, controls, safety, and operational discipline

1. Company's and Partner's Stores Operations & Material Management

Oversee end-to-end stores operations including material receipt, storage, issuance, and work placement across locations

Ensure proper material handling, preservation, and storage practices, aligned to safety and quality norms

Drive adherence to standardized store processes and IMS requirements

Keep oversight on EPC/Operations partner's stores operations and material management

2. Material Receipt, Accounting & Reconciliation

Ensure timely and accurate material receipt (GRN) and system recording

Govern material accounting and reconciliation against requisitions, issuances, and stock balances

Ensure timely material consumption posting

Scrutinize vendor material consumption for invoice validation and ensure proper documentation

3. Inventory Control & Optimization

Monitor inventory levels against requirements and consumption patterns

Maintain overview of inventory ageing, slow-moving and excess stock, and drive corrective actions

Proactively plan for seasonality, project schedules, and demand changes to optimize inventory and storage provisions

4. Stock Availability & Early Warning Mechanism

Ensure availability of critical materials and spares

Collaborate with Projects, Procurement and Supply Chain functions to provide early warning on potential stock-outs or excess build-up

Drive decisions on redistribution, procurement triggers, and consumption prioritization

5. SAP / Data Integrity & Digital Governance

Ensure data sanctity in SAP and related digital dashboards for all material related transactions

Monitor and enforce discipline in GRN, issuance, stock transfers, and reconciliations

Leverage system data to enable data driven decision making and continuous improvement

6. MIS, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

Provide periodic MIS and dashboards on inventory status, ageing, stock risks, and key metrics

Communicate inventory insights, risks, and actions to management and stakeholders

Provide data-backed feedback and recommendations for improving inventory planning

7. Scrap, Returns & Disposal Management

Ensure proper tracking of scrap receipts from user departments

Facilitate timely disposal of scrap and maintain compliance with policies and documentation

8. Safety, Compliance, continuous improvement & Audits

Ensure compliance with IMS standards, safety guidelines, and 5S workplace standards, especially in material handling and storage

Actively engage with internal and external auditors to identify gaps and improve store operations

Ensure all stores are audit-ready with complete and accurate documentation

Adopt best practices across sites / partners and drive continuous improvement

9. Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with Projects, O&M, Procurement, Finance, and other functions to enable seamless material flow and invoicing

Drive issue resolution related to material availability, discrepancies, and consumption tracking

Ensure alignment between inventory planning and project execution priorities

10. Team Leadership & Capability Development

Lead and manage multi-location stores teams, ensuring accountability and performance

Provide regular feedback, training, and capability development to team members

Build a culture of ownership, discipline, and continuous improvement

11. Site Engagement & Field Governance

Undertake regular site visits across project and O&M locations (primarily Gujarat and Rajasthan) to ensure site operations aligned with our processes and systems

Ensure implementation of store processes, safety practices, and inventory controls at site level

Identify operational gaps, risks, and improvement areas through field assessments and drive corrective actions
