Senior Legal Counsel, IT Procurement Contracts

About The Job:
- Client is looking for an experienced external contractor to provide legal services as Senior IT Procurement Counsel to the procurement organisation.
- The scope of the legal services includes providing legal support to high-value IT procurement activities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead supplier negotiations and provide legal counsel for high-value IT transactions.
- Provide legal support for escalated agreements and issues, working with other attorneys, business partners, and experts to ensure compliance with Client policies.
- Advise Procurement teams, including the Global Services Source to Contract organization (“S2C”) on strategic legal and contractual matters.
- Help develop, assess, and execute sourcing strategies for products, services, and solutions while ensuring contracts meet business requirements and risks are managed.
- Work with the Global Simplification and Innovation in Contracting (GSINC) Office to improve IT contracting processes and templates.
- Deliver training, harmonize documents, build playbooks, and support process improvements for efficiency and quality.
- Provide and coordinate legal support independently.
- Contribute to cross-functional teams and collaborate with colleagues on key contracting matters.
Qualifications:
- Law degree (LLB or equivalent), with current certification or license to practice law.
- A minimum of 8-10 years’ relevant experience with a Tier 1/Tier 2 law firm and/or in-house experience at a multinational organization.
- Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex, high value supplier agreements, including cross-border contracts within the US or the EMEA region.
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex IT contracts.
- Strong IT procurement experience dealing with high value agreements.
- Excellent teamwork, relationship management, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Language skills: excellent English (both written and spoken), including legal drafting.
- Sense of urgency and proven ability to prioritize to meet business demands and timelines.
