Senior Manager/Associate Director - Finance
As Senior Manager/Associate Director of Finance at Instawork India, you will own and oversee the finance/accounting team for Instawork India, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Instawork (U.S. company - www.instawork.com). Additionally, you will own the Accounts Receivable for the U.S. company, including managing AR collections analysts. You will report directly to the U.S. Controller, but also work closely with the Country Head of Instawork India.
You would be responsible for end-to-end financial management domestically, including payroll, accounts payable, all corporate accounting, including the month-end close, regulatory/compliance and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation for Instawork's Indian Entity.
You will partner with the Country Head and help design and implement various internal policies for finance, expenses, and budgeting. You will also ensure that the Indian Entity is compliant with all the prevailing laws and regulations of the country and proactively advise the management of any changes in regulations.
Additionally, you would be working with the global finance team to help achieve other business goals as determined by the U.S. CFO and U.S. Controller from time to time.
Accounting
- Lead and Own U.S. Accounts Receivable for the Company
- Initiate best-in-class global support of the month-end close, year-end close, and audit support
- Financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation
- Own end-to-end accounting, payroll, and bookkeeping for the Indian entity, along with expense management and vendor payments
- Calculation and remittance of monthly statutory payments and Taxes eg, TDS PF, ESI, PT etc
- Preparation of financial statements and the company's monthly MIS reports
- Coordination with Statutory auditors, external consultants, banks and other government agencies
- Preparation and filing of the company's GST and Income tax returns
- Preparation & submission of quarterly and annual returns
- Help design and implement various internal policies for finance, expenses, and budgeting
- Assist with Global accounting and reporting in conjunction with the U.S. CFO and U.S Controller
- Supervise, mentor, and guide the India finance team (2 personnel) and the AR collections analysts (3 personnel)
Compliance
Own end to end compliance for the Indian entity including Financial Audit, RBI, STPI, MCA and other regulatory filings including:
- Periodic Tax and Statutory payments like EPF, ESI, state taxes etc.
- Periodic Regulatory Filings with RBI and MCA
- STPI and export related compliances
- Annual Audit and Tax Filings
- Facilitate Board Meetings
- Assistance with Global compliance and regulatory filings
Who you are
- CA with 7-10 years of experience with strong knowledge of Indian Accounting
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience working with a Big 4 firm is a plus
- Have handled Global Financial Operations, particularly Accounts Receivable a plus
- Ownership of financial operations workflows to support Corporate/ Global team
- NetSuite experience is desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets required. Conversant with MS Office
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work some U.S. pacific time zone hours
- Proven experience with process improvements, automation and the ability to incorporate AI to improve processes
- Excellent people management skills
