About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist with strong Python expertise and hands-on experience in machine learning and data analysis. This role focuses on working with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) datasets, including semi-structured and unstructured data, to drive meaningful insights and build scalable data solutions.

You will play a key role in enhancing an existing internal Python codebase while developing new data-driven capabilities, integrating external data sources, and contributing to advanced analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance, maintain, and extend an existing Python-based internal codebase
• Develop new data processing pipelines and analytical functionalities
• Retrieve, process, and integrate data from external APIs
• Work extensively with semi-structured and unstructured ESG datasets (JSON, XML, text data)
• Perform data wrangling, cleaning, transformation, and validation
• Conduct feature engineering and build machine learning models
• Evaluate and optimize models for performance and scalability
• Translate complex data into actionable business insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency in Python for data science (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Feature engineering
  • Model development and evaluation
  • Data preprocessing and transformation
• Experience working with APIs for data retrieval and integration
• Strong experience handling semi-structured/unstructured data
• Ability to work with and improve an existing production-level codebase
• Solid understanding of data analysis, statistics, and machine learning concepts
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
