About The Job:

Essential Job Functions:
Application Support

  • Provide end-to-end support for Java-based applications hosted on WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, and microservices running on OpenShift.
  • Monitor application performance, stability, and availability, ensuring minimal downtime.

Release & Change Management

  • Coordinate production releases and changes with Application Development teams.
  • Deploy application builds to production using Harness, UrbanCode Deploy (UCD), and other CI/CD tools.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational change control processes.

Incident Management

  • Handle production incidents using ServiceNow and Jira, ensuring timely triage and resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Major Incident Management

  • Lead TMIM (Technical Major Incident Management) bridge calls during high-severity incidents or outages.
  • Drive quick mitigation steps to restore service and minimize business impact.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for real-time troubleshooting.

Debugging & Issue Resolution

  • Troubleshoot issues by analyzing logs on Linux servers using UNIX commands and logging tools like Splunk.
  • Identify production issues, assess impact, and coordinate with development teams for urgent fixes and patches.

Alert Management

  • Onboard and configure alerts for critical services/components.
  • Ensure proactive alerting for failures, errors, and degradation to reduce incident volume.

Observability & Monitoring

  • Continuously monitor application health using tools such as Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace.
  • Set up dashboards, alerts, and reports for proactive monitoring.
  • Work with the Monitoring/MC teams to onboard alerts.

Patching Management

  • Manage and execute server patching operations using in-house enterprise patching tools such as SSP and DMAN.
  • Collaborate with Patching/Infra teams to troubleshoot patching failures, configuration drifts, or application startup issues.
  • Conduct pre-patch and post-patch validations to ensure application availability and stability.

Vulnerability Management

  • Track, validate, and remediate vulnerabilities identified in production systems.
  • Coordinate with Dev, Security, and Infrastructure teams for closure within compliance timelines.

Certificate Management

  • Manage application certificates, including renewals and installations, using Venafi.
  • Ensure timely updates to avoid outages due to expired certificates.

Drift Management

  • Identify and resolve configuration drifts across application servers using tools like ORAP and SVE.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with baseline configurations.

Job Monitoring

  • Monitor and troubleshoot scheduled jobs running on Autosys.
  • Resolve job failures and ensure critical batch processes complete successfully.

Automation

  • Develop automation scripts/playbooks using Ansible and in-house tools like AMA.
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks, failover steps, and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) activities.

Maintenance Activities

  • Perform routine application maintenance, including deployments, cleanup, validations, and health checks.
  • Execute traffic routing activities during maintenance windows or failovers.
