About The Job:
- Database Administrator (DBA) – Open Source & Azure Databases Hyderabad
- We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in open-source databases and cloud database platforms.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining high-availability database systems, primarily focusing on MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Azure-managed databases.
- The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, performance tuning experience, and familiarity with Linux environments and scripting for automation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Manage and administer Azure database services such as:
- Azure Database for PostgreSQL
- Azure Database for MySQL
- Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB API
- Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal system performance.
- Perform database tuning, query optimization, and index management.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure database security, user access control, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Automate routine database operations using scripting.
- Work closely with application developers and DevOps teams to support database integration and performance improvements.
- Maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- MongoDB
- PostgreSQL
- MySQL
- Experience managing cloud databases on Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of database backup, replication, and high availability setups.
- Experience with database performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Basic to intermediate administration skills in Linux environments.
Preferred Skills
- Scripting knowledge using:
- Bash
- Python
- Shell scripting
- Experience with automation and infrastructure tools.
- Knowledge of database security best practices.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in database administration.
- Hands-on experience with open-source databases in production environments.
- Experience supporting cloud-based database infrastructure is preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Nice to Have
- Experience with database monitoring tools.
- Experience on MSSQL Database.
- Azure, Open Source certifications related to database administration.
