Essential Job Functions:
- Perform detailed assessments of Oracle schemas, PL/SQL code, and database features to design equivalent PostgreSQL implementations.
- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including patching, version upgrades, and environment optimization.
- Configure, administer, and manage PostgreSQL for high performance, availability, and security.
- Implement and manage HA/DR solutions using tools such as Patroni and pgBackRest, ensuring robust replication and recovery capabilities.
- Develop and execute performance tuning strategies including query optimization, indexing, and database configuration adjustments.
- Manage backup and recovery processes, ensuring compliance with defined RTO/RPO metrics.
- Collaborate with application teams to rewrite and optimize PL/SQL code into PostgreSQL-compatible PL/pgSQL functions and procedures.
- Monitor database health, capacity, and growth trends while proactively troubleshooting and resolving incidents.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for migration strategies, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
