Job Description - Assistant Manager Sales (BESS) Role Title: Assistant Manager - Sales (Battery Energy Storage Systems) Function: Sales & Business Development Location: Chennai Reports To: Manager / DGM - Sales Role Purpose

To support business growth by driving sales of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across commercial, industrial, and utility segments. The role involves lead generation, customer engagement, techno-commercial discussions, and assisting in deal closure.

Key Responsibilities 1. Business Development & Lead Generation
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for BESS solutions.
  • Generate leads through market mapping, industry networks, and client outreach.
  • Build a strong sales pipeline in segments like:
    • C&I (Commercial & Industrial)
    • Renewable developers (solar/wind hybrid)
    • EPC contractors
2. Customer Engagement
  • Engage with customers to understand technical and commercial requirements.
  • Coordinate meetings, presentations, and site visits.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders (technical, procurement, project teams).
3. Techno-Commercial Sales Support
  • Support preparation of proposals including:
    • System configuration (Battery, PCS, EMS)
    • Costing and pricing
    • ROI analysis
  • Assist in tender participation, RFQs, and bid submissions.
  • Work with engineering teams for solution customization.
4. Deal Closure Support
  • Assist in negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Track opportunities from inquiry to closure.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups and customer communication.
5. Market Intelligence
  • Track competitor offerings, pricing trends, and industry developments.
  • Identify emerging applications such as:
    • Peak shaving
    • Backup power
    • Renewable integration
    • EV charging infrastructure
6. Internal Coordination
  • Coordinate with:
    • Engineering (for technical solutions)
    • Supply Chain (for costing inputs)
    • Project Execution (for timelines)
  • Ensure smooth handover of projects post order closure.
7. Reporting & MIS
  • Maintain CRM updates for leads, pipeline, and closures.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports.
  • Track KPIs like conversion rate, order booking, and pipeline health.

Qualifications & Experience
  • B.E./B.Tech (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical)
  • MBA (Sales/Marketing) preferred
  • 4-8 years of experience in:
    • BESS / Battery / Solar / Power / Electrical industry
